December 1st officially began Christmas season in the Trifiro house. This means we have Mariah Carey playing at all hours of the day, Christmas themed candles on every mantle, advent calendar chocolates and a whole lot of stress over what to buy our loved ones.
To simplify things, this week I have compiled a list of the 15 things all recent grads really want this Christmas:
1. An alcohol tolerance.
Is it just me, or did anyone else completely lose their alcohol tolerance after May 20th? I literally cannot drink anything from the Piano Bar without having a massive hangover the next day (am I old???). Please, Santa, I want my ability to drink an entire bottle of champagne back.
2. A stress free weekend.
Screw grad school. Just kidding, we all know I love it. I write about it all the time. But seriously, I would like to have one weekend where I do not have to stress about how much reading I have to finish by Monday or how many pages of my paper I can possibly type.
3. Netflix to have better movies.
When I do have a few minutes to myself, nothing is better than a Netflix binge. But unless I want to watch a billion obscure documentaries, why are there so few movies to choose from?? Seriously Netflix, I need some better movie options in the future.
4. Paid student loans.
This one explains itself.
5. Telemarketers to stop calling me.
Okay, maybe this is just me. Please stop calling and telling me that I won a free cruise. It gets my hopes up and it’s honestly just mean.
6. A weeklong vacation.
Why do only college students get spring break?? Seriously, I need a week in the Bahamas ASAP.
7. A job where I can make buckets of money but do not have to leave my bed.
I do not want to put on pants every day. The 9-5 life is not for me.
8. A few hours of peace and quiet.
Seriously, all I want this year is a nice face mask and no interruptions. No papers, no deadlines, no exams, no nagging mothers… you get the idea.
9. Business casual clothes.
I hate myself for including this. But why are dress pants SO EXPENSIVE?? It is hard to adult.
10. Cuffing season to be over.
If I hear about cuffing season one more time, I am going to scream.
11. An engagement ring from the boyfriend who doesn’t know I exist yet.
Cuffing season is getting to me guys.
12. A two bedroom apartment – one room for me, one room for my clothes.
Inspired by Lindsay, but anyone who knows me knows my clothes need their own room anyways.
13. The money to actually rent an apartment.
And to buy a car. And go on vacation. Oh and pay my student loans. So like, a lot of money, please.
14. My social life back.
Whether it’s working 9-5 or getting a master’s degree, my social life is completely shot. Would totally love to have a weekend where it was not nearly impossible to work around everyone’s schedules, TIA.
15. My college days back.
Wow, I felt old typing that. But seriously, what we all probably want is just to go back to college. I mean, back then our most important decision was whether we went to Effins or the Piano Bar on Thursday nights. And also I would like to have my BFFs a hallway away again, please.
Happy Holidays – until next time,
