Disclaimer: this post should have totally been done last week or the week before, but hey, better late than never, right?
My 2017 New Year’s resolution was to be more positive. So in the spirit of positivity, here are my 10 favorite things & memories from 2017.
“Briana we get it, you love your friends.” Check out my super sappy sweet post on how much I love these awesome ladies here.
2. Senior year & lasting memories…
My roommate used to call senior year “our year of lasts.” My senior year was full of lots of tears, belly laughs and crying at mixers – and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
3. …sisters for a lifetime.
One of my favorite memories of senior year, by far, was post-Senior to Alumna transition, where our entire pledge class bonded and cried over Yamato and scorpion bowls. I had just gotten over a nasty day of alcohol poisoning (shoutout to Haley for running over a bottle of Body Armor to my house, which I immediately vomited). I had never been prouder to belong to a stronger, more supportive group of women. Can’t wait for trips to Disney World with matching T-Shirts.
4. Vacationing with some of the best people.
A week on the beach with swim up bars and all-inclusive food and drinks? Missing the warm weather of Punta Cana a little extra this week.
5. Legacy lives on.
I was super, super upset last year when my little decided to transfer out of Bryant. I was heartbroken when I was initially passed over to get a second little last spring. But like everything else, everything happens for a reason. One of my hands down top ten memories of 2017 was being paired with my second little, Amy. Amy – you are one of my best friends and I am so excited that my legacy lives on through you. The day I found out that I was matched with you, I burst into tears and didn’t stop crying for an hour – I was so excited to welcome you home. I’m pumped that you are finally home from Italy because I missed you so damn much. See you soon, little one.
6. Unexpected best friend.
2017 was full of surprises. But one thing I for sure did not see coming were some of the most unexpected friendships I was lucky to have. Lindsay, we have had our ups and downs over and over again – but I am SO lucky to have a best friend like you to tackle PGL with. I wouldn’t want to try out sketchy Groupons and vacation with anyone else, buddy.
7. Pinot Grigio toasts in Times Square.
For my 22nd birthday, I somehow convinced my friends to travel all the way to NYC with me. As luck would have it, the hotel gave us a room with a stellar view of Times Square, and we celebrated all weekend with wine toasts in some of the prettiest views. I couldn’t imagine a better 22nd birthday, even if some of us (me, mostly) were incredibly moody and cranky after walking all weekend long.
8. Every piano bar trip ever, but especially Halloween weekend, where we sat front row and ate Chinese.
Halloweekend, PGL style. Ordered chinese delivery and laughed and sang all night long at Point Street Dueling Pianos (can I be a brand ambassador for them, LMK). My fave bar in the world with my fave people and all the Chinese food I could want, what more could I ask for?
9. Every hotel room where my friends and I had to fight, flip a coin or draw names to get the good bed.
Boston (twice), New York City, Foxwoods, Homecoming… my credit card may need a rest but some of the best memories I have were frolicking in these hotels with my BFFs.
10. New beginnings.
Hands down, one of my favorite things to come out of 2017 is this blog. I say it all the time, but thank you so so much for tuning in every Friday to see what sort of shenanigans I have gotten myself into. Here’s to another year’s worth of Friday posts and articles that make my friends cry.
2018, you have a lot to live up to.
Until next time,
